Pizza Robbery And Assault Suspect Arrested

FOLEY, Alabama -

Surrounded by police, a handcuffed Anthony Knight was escorted to a patrol car and taken to jail.

Knight was charged with 1st degree robbery and assault. Investigators tell News 5 Knight confessed to ambushing a teacher outside Papa Murphy's Pizza on Highway 59 in Foley Sunday.

Police say Knight also confessed to beating the teacher and stealing her purse.

Patricia Givens was released from the hospital Monday night. The 8th grade teacher suffered a concussion, facial fractures, a broken nose and fractured fingers in the attack.

Givens says she'll one day forgive her attacker.

Knight was currently serving a 15 year burglary sentence at a minimum security work release facility in Loxley when he allegedly attacked Givens.

Knight was on a furlough when the incident happened.
