MOBILE, Ala. -

Mobile Police are asking the public to help them find a suspect responsible for shooting a child.

Police say on September 22 around 9:20 p.m., they responded to the 1900 block of Hurtel Street for a report of one shot.

When officers arrived they found 11-year-old Tresure Ruffin with a gunshot wound to her chest. She was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

"She was sitting in her bedroom watching tv, when a bullet came through the window and struck her in the chest," said Cpl. Chris Levy.

Police are not sure where exactly the bullet came from. All they know now is that the bullet entered the home through a window from outside.

If anyone has any information about the suspect, please call the Mobile Police Department at 208-7211.
