Verdict Expected in Hawkins Trial Wednesday

Caught between her lover and her love for her brother, Ally Hawkins sat sobbing on the witness stand. testifying to the events that led to the beating of her girlfriend Mallory Owens.

Photos show Owens with a bruised swollen face. a general surgeon testified that she suffered multiple fractures including the bones around her eyes, a broken nose, and bleeding and bruising of the brain. The incident happened last thanksgiving, when Ally invited Mallory over to spend time with her family. She says everything seemed normal and that her brother had been quote, "distant from owens, but he wasn't mean to her."

She says that day her father, Mallory and her brother were drinking beer, watching tv, and even had a bonfire going. When she was ready to leave, she went inside to get her cell phone charger, only to come back to her brother attacking Mallory.

Ally says says she didn't hear an argument leading up to the altercation, but the defense attorney says there was an exchange of words and it had to do with Hawkins questioning Mallory about giving his sister meth, a date rape drug known as molly and forcing her into prostitution. Owens admitted that both she and ally used drugs and testified that ally wasn't forced to have sex for money.

The state called three witnesses to the stand, Ally Hawkins, Mallory Owens and medical surgeon, before resting today. Hawkins waved his right to testify. Jury Deliberations will continue tomorrow at 10 am.
