Police Search For Escapee

Saraland, Al - Police are looking for two fugitives. Saraland investigators say on Wednesday, Jason Covington, a prisoner in the Saraland City Jail, escaped from custody.

Covington was serving a sentence on a misdemeanor charge and was on an assigned work detail. Investigators believe he left with the aid of his girlfriend, Sarah Alisa Newburn, of Citronelle. Newburn was arrested for Facilitating an Escape 2nd Degree on Wednesday. Jason Covington is currently wanted, by the Saraland Police Department, for Escape 2nd.
