School bus driver cited in St Pete crash

ST PETERSBURG, FL -

A school bus crash in Saint Petersburg may have been caused by the driver running a stop sign, according to police.

The crash happened around 5:00 p.m. near the intersection of 62nd Ave South and 7th Street South.

There were 13 students on the bus from University Prep Academy at the time of the crash. All of them appeared to be okay.

The driver of the car involved in the crash with the school bus was taken to a hospital. Her condition was not immediately known.

The driver of the school bus was cited for failing to yield from a stop sign.
