Airbus Makes Delta Deal

Airbus Makes Delta Deal

Posted: Updated:

Airbus has announced a deal to sell 40 airplanes to U.S. carrier Delta Airlines.

It's a good deal for Airbus--the first time Delta has bought Airbus aircraft in almost two decades.

Delta is set to buy 30 A321 jetliners at a cost of $117.4m each. The carrier will also buy 10 A330 airplanes at a cost of about $240m each.
Many of the A321's could be built at the Mobile Final Assembly Plant, now under construction at the Brookley Aeroplex.

The first Airbus airplanes are expected to be completed at the Mobile FAL by 2016. The first however will not go to Delta. It's already been promised to Airbus customer Jet Blue.
