MOBILE, Ala. -

If you remember high school, you may remember pep rallies, mascots, cheers and chants - a swarm of school spirit.

Tonight several high schools in our area will take to the field for the first time this season. Including Theodore high school against Baldwin County.

"What our offensive line coach says this is a job, and Friday nights it's time to get paid and we are ready to get paid tonight," said Colin McColin

All of those long hot summer practices will be put to the test out on the field.

"We worked hard all year and I'm ready to show everybody our talents," said quarterback Jamey Moseley.

Moseley he says he's ready. And who wouldn't be? With a big brother, named C.J. Moseley who plays for Alabama.

"He teaches me a lot of things. He gives me inspiration before the game, so he is a really good blessing to me, said Moseley.

Blount high school also held a pep rally - gearing up for first game against the Leflore rattlers.

"Work as a team, play together as a team, ain't no individual out here," said Delorean Bethay, a running back.

Local high school coaches say they are looking forward to the match ups.

"You always want to win. You always want to start out strong. Tonight is the first test, so you always want to show up and play a good game," said Mark Hurt, Head Coach for Blount high school.

Each hoping their team will come out on top.

"You got Davidson. You got Murphy. You got Alma Bryant. Every week you got a big time opponent. We are looking forward to the challenge," said Hurt.

No matter what team you choose to cheer for on any playing level, the point is football season has arrived.

"I'm an alabama fan, roll tide baby! War Eagle! Oh, no! But we are still best friends," laughed two math teachers at Theodore high school.

Breaking out the rivalries, and bringing fans together - all for the love of the game.
