MOBILE, Alabama -

Ladies dressed in various shades of pink filled the Alabama Cruise Terminal in Downtown Mobile Thursday.  They were there to help kick off fund-raising efforts for The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk to be held in Downtown Mobile in two months.
WKRG News 5's Rose Ann Haven and Lite Mix 99.9's Mary Booth served and co-emcees for luncheon.

One of the speakers encouraging attendees to form teams for the upcoming walk was Paula Visor, a 20 year breast cancer survivor.
"When I was diagnosed, I was 33 years old.  I would have never have thought it was possible for me to have breast cancer at that early..but, through my treatments,  I found out just how many people there are out there that have it", said Visor.

She strongly encourages early detection and getting involved with The American Cancer Society.  The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk is planned for October 26th.
