Mother Arrested After Toddler Found Dead In Pond

A mother in Escambia County, Florida faces child neglect charges after her toddler is found dead.

The sheriff's office says a neighbor found the 14 month old child yesterday in a small landscaping pond in the yard. The toddler's sibling went to the neighbor for help. The home is located on Betmark Road.

Jennifer Lynn Eiland is charged with four counts of child neglect and is currently being held in the Escambia County Jail with no bond. She has three other children under 8 years old. Investigators say the children were living in unsanitary conditions. The sheriff's office is still investigating the circumstances of the drowning.
