Raleigh man arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase

RALEIGH, N.C. -

A Raleigh man is charged with leading police and state troopers on a high-speed chase late Thursday night.

The incident began around 11 p.m. Thursday. Police say David Banks, 21, fled from authorities on Western Boulevard before getting on the beltline and eventually crashing his motorcycle on Wade Ave.

Banks was taken to the hospital and released. Banks is being held in the Wake County Jail on a $15,000 bond.

Banks is charged with speeding, reckless driving, fleeing to elude arrest and failure to reduce speed. He is expected in court in court at 2 p.m. Friday.
