8/21/2013:

First it was this sign that employees saw on Tuesday morning when they showed up for work. Without notice dozens were out of a job. Today it's this sign that's getting the attention.

"Maybe it's like we're still connecting the dots a little bit, maybe that's part of it. Obviously there's underlying things going on financially or something," said former general manager Rob Dearing.

This sign is posted on The Shed's front door. The equipment inside is now the property of the Mobile County Revenue Commissioner. Turns out the owners are late on taxes. When I spoke to co-owner Brad Orrison earlier he had different plans for the things inside.

"We're going to start taking things out and moving them into the other location because we need it," said Orrison.

While they need their equipment, people need jobs.

"I'm terrified, I've got 3 kids at home just like everybody else here we've all got a situation that we have to deal with," said Leacy Hamner.

"Closing is never a good thing. We had a few key employees that we let know what was going to happen and when. We also offered several people jobs here in Ocean Springs, several people have already taken jobs but unfortunately we couldn't bring everybody over but we wish everybody the best of luck but hey you got to find another job," said Orrison.

But, first things first. The employees are looking for their checks.

"We paid everybody for 2 weeks and said hey go get a job but at least everybody has a couple weeks pay," said Orrison.

Employees tell News 5 they've yet to receive the two weeks severance and today was supposed to be a normal pay day. As of Wednesday evening the employees tell me they're still waiting on a check.
