Tropical Plants

It's Gulf Coast summer…that means hot and humid; it's the kind of weather our tropical plants love!

Gardening expert Bill Finch says this is a good time to buy, plant, or just look at the many wonderful tropicals we grow along the Gulf Coast:  Mona lavender, coleus, impatiens, blue clockvine, and gingers to name only a few.  They all love this season and will grow well as long as they're planted in well-drained soil.

Most of these plants will survive the winter planted in the garden.  Some die back in mid-December but will come back next summer.  They don't need to be moved in and out of the house like they would in Boston or other northern climates.
