FOLEY, Alabama -

There is a lot of work to be done to change what was acres and acres of farm land into a multi-million dollar entertainment complex but Tony Orlando says it will happen.

Singer and entertainer Tony Orlando stepped off a private jet in Gulf Shores enroute to his new offices at Blue Collar Country. "This is exciting, I'm 52 years in show business and this is the most exciting day of the whole trip."

Along with Orlando, Bill Engvall, Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy are backing the project that Orlando says will be a place for families. "Shopping is first class, the lake that we're going to put in is going to be beautiful. The rides that we are going to put in are going to be exciting. The theater and amphitheater is going to be amazing."

Once onsite, Orlando spent the day meeting with engineers, developers and getting a first hand look at work already underway. Crews are working on clearing trees on the back part of the property. Already truck loads of timber have been removed.

From the get go there's been speculation that Blue Collar Country would ever be built but Tony Orlando's visit does seem to add some credibility that the project is moving forward according to Foley mayor John Konair. "I'm very optimistic when they spent 12 million dollars on the land my optimism went up quite a bit, now what they are putting together is very impressive and I'm very optimistic about the whole thing."

The entertainer is aware of similar projects that have failed but says this one will be different because of the people involved. "They are the face of this, these venues. When you put a face on it, it changes it. It is no longer just a building. It's no longer just a park. It's no longer just a ride. It's them."

The exact footprint of the complex is still a closely guarded secret. It's changed from initial plans as hotels , restaurants and retail shops have come on board.

We did see a 3D animated fly-through of the complex and it is impressive.

The opening slated for late spring of 2015.
