Authorities are the Farley Nuclear Plant near Dothan, Alabama say an inadvertent release of carbon dioxide from a fire suppression system led to an alert being issued this (Saturday) morning.
The plant del cared an alert on Unit 1 at 5:20am after CO2 was released during maintenance.
Plant workers report there was no impact to plant equipment, no radiation leaks and no danger to the public.
The Joseph Farley Nuclear Plant is located near Dothan in Southeast Alabama and is owned by Alabama Power.
