Man Arrested After Trying to Steal Television

A Mobile man is arrested after police say he tried to steal a television from someone's home.

Officers responded to a person shot on Old Military Road early Wednesday morning.

When they arrived they learned the victim had gone to the backyard to feed his dogs, and when he came back into the house, he discovered Jackie Ruffin in his living room attempting to steal a television.

They began to fight, and the victim went to his bedroom and grabbed a shotgun.

He began to fire towards Ruffin and Police say Ruffin ran out the front door.

A little while later Mobile Infirmary received Ruffin with a gunshot wound to his neck and was taken into custody.

He was arrested and charged with Burglary Second Degree and transported to Metro after being released from the hospital.
