Homes Demolished due to Flooding

Homes Demolished due to Flooding

Posted: Updated:
MOBILE, Ala. -

People living in the Cessna Place subdivision near the Eslava Creek are complaining about flooding issues.

One neighbor tells us several homes have had to be demolished due to water damage sustained in flooding after heavy rainfall.

Another neighbor says the city used to dredge the creek to prevent flooding, however she hasn't seen the workers around for years and there is a lot of growth in and around the banks of the river.

Some folks also believe a new litter trap down the river will also slow down the flow of water, causing it to flood more easily.

News 5's Ashley Knight will talk to city officials to see what is being done about this situation. Tune in to News 5 at 6 for more.
