Chessie Wood Pleads Not Guilty of Sex Abuse Charges

MOBILE, Ala. -

The mother of a missing teenager pleaded not guilty to sex abuse charges Monday morning.

Chessie Wood pleaded not guilty to all charges against her which include - two counts of First-Degree Sodomy and one count of Sexual Abuse of a child younger than 12.

Wood is the sixth member of her family to be charged with child sexual abuse offenses since her daughter, Brittney Wood, disappeared last year.

Chessie Wood has denied any knowledge of the crimes she has been accused of and has urged the public to continue searching for her daughter.

Chessie Wood has a preliminary hearing scheduled for August 6.
