Chessie Wood Arrested On Sex Charges

MOBILE, Alabama -

The mother of Brittney Wood says she's innocent.

"The only thing I can say is that I know the truth and God know's the truth and that's all that matters. I have never touched a child inappropriately," said Chessie Wood.

Seen here being escorted into Mobile Metro Jail late Thursday afternoon in tears. Sheriff's deputies picked her up from her home, facing two counts of sodomy and one count of sex abuse.

"I know that's what they say. I believe that they're going to arrest everybody in this family whether you did anything or not because I haven't done anything," said Wood.

But, authorities say otherwise. They say she had contact with a 10 year old nearly 5 years ago. The now 14 year old has been talking with authorities and working with them every step of the way.

Wood will remain behind bars until she appears before a magestrate judge.
