Mobile Area Tea Party Joins IRS Lawsuit

Mobile Area Tea Party Joins IRS Lawsuit

Posted: Updated:

In an e-mail to News 5, Common Sense Campaign cofounder Pete Riehm says they will join the IRS lawsuit filed by the American Center for Law and Justice.  According to a Washington Times story posted today, the conservative group filing the suit has added 16 more organizations to the legal action.  That brings the total to 41 including the Wetumpka Tea Party from central Alabama.  Pete Riehm previously told News Five that the lawsuit isn't about getting tax exempt status from the IRS.

"It's a more altruistic reason for the bigger picture:  to make sure this abuse of power by the IRS is rooted out, it's exposed and we make sure it never happens again," says Riehm.
