PENSACOLA, Florida -

Investigators with the Escambia County, Florida Sheriff's Office believe they have solved a string of convenience store robberies following the arrest of three men over the weekend. Deputies arrested the three following an early Sunday morning robbery at a Circle K store in the 3400 block of Barrancas Ave.

Sheriff's Office dispatchers received a call about a robbery in progress just before 4 on Sunday morning. Deputies arrived on the scene and began searching the area around the store just after the three suspects fled the scene. The three suspects were captured a short time later.

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office also has an interest in the arrests because they have reason to believe all three man taken into custody are responsible for a series of armed robberies in both Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties over recent weeks.

The suspects are identified as follows: Damascus Isaiah Williams, 20; Maurice Pettus, II, 35; Julius Lamar Scott, 35. The three men are charged with: Robbery with a Firearm, Aggravated Assault, False Imprisonment, Grand Theft, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Officials says there are additional charges still pending against the three.
