Investigators Make Arrest In Double Murder

Posted: Updated:
Mobile, AL -

Mobile Sheriff's Investigators made an arrest in the weekend murder of Steve and Erica Lankford. 43-year old Gigada Pearson is charged with murder and arson. Investigators say Pearson is married to Erica's sister. He was arrested at his home Sunday night.

The bodies of the Lankfords were found in their home off Kings Branch Road late Friday night. Investigators say Pearson set the home on fire to destroy any evidence left behind.

Neighbors say they heard gunshots before the fire started. And it was neighbors who helped investigators by describing a truck seen in the area at the time of the murders.
