Steve Nodine Considering a Run for Bonner's Seat in Congress

Posted: Updated:

Former Mobile County Commissioner Steve Nodine told News 5 he is considering throwing his hat into the ring to replace Jo Bonner in Congress.

Bonner has announced he will resign from the House in August.

Several candidates have already announced intentions to run for the office.  Nodine told News 5's Bill Riales he believes his experience as a Mobile County Commissioner, and City Councilman give him the qualifications for the job.

As for the last three years that saw him stand trial for murder in the death of his mistress, Angel Downs, he believes it has been proven to be wrongful and malicious prosecution and that the public will give him a second chance.

Nodine has not said when he will make his decision.
