Tropical Storm Barry in the Southwestern Gulf

Posted: Updated:

Tropical Storm Barry is in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico. It was tropical depression #2 earlier today. The maximum sustained winds as of late afternoon were 40mph. It was drifting westward at only 6mph.

Barry may strengthen a little before landfall tomorrow on the southwest Gulf coast of Mexico, somewhere near Veracruz Mexico.

Heavy rain will be more of an issue than high wind once it moves back onto land.
