Smoking could be banned in all public buildings in Pascagoula -- including bars and restaurants -- with a non-smoking ordinance facing a vote by the city council.
The Sun Herald reports the comprehensive ban that's on Tuesday's agenda would apply to all restaurants, bars, stores, motel/hotel lobbies, common areas of all buildings and indoor workplaces.
City Attorney Eddie Williams said he reworked an old city ordinance that dealt with city employees and city buildings, and amended it to "broaden the scope."
Basically, any indoor place patronized by the public would be included in the ban.
