If you're traveling downtown, you may have noticed movie cameras, production vehicles, and occasionally Nicholas Cage along downtown streets as the city serves as the backdrop for the major motion picture, "Tokarev." Film officials release that they'll be closing some downtown streets this week as they prepare to film a chase scene.
Filming will occur between the hours of 8AM and 8PM on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Filming will primarily take place on St. Francis Street, St. Joseph Street and Royal Street. There will be road closures at those intersections, so drivers should expect delays in their commute. As a safety precaution for the crew and public, numerous metered parking spots will also be blocked off along the route this week.
Although there'll be numerous road closings, the City of Mobile Police and Fire department will work to reroute drivers to their destinations.
