A New Craze Hitting Mobile: Disc Golf

Memorial Day to some means incredible deals. So to find people enjoying the day, I headed to the mall to ask what people were shopping for.

"I'm hoping I can find something for him that's nice, special, and a really good deal!" says Sophia Robinson who was shopping for her husband.

"Got me a pair of shoes for, like, what was it? $10!" says Jessica Davis.

But the shoppers were few and far between so I decided to go hunt down where everyone else was, and I found them at Langan Park.

"We're playing disc golf," says Steven Faralli.

"We're just enjoying a nice, great day, great weather and a little bit of disc golf," says Chris Brockman.

Everyone was playing disc golf, similar to regular golf, but with Frisbees. And not just any Frisbees. There's a science to it.

"You got putters, drivers, and midranges. And of course your drinks!" says Brockman.

And just like with regular golf, the weather is an important factor.

"The weather is perfect, the wind is awesome," adds Faralli.

And after awhile, it was easy to see why this sport has become so popular.

"A lot of people nowadays like to stay indoors, play video games, things like that. But you actually get to be outside and enjoy this beautiful weather that we have for the time we have it," says golfer Thomas Ward.

And the freedom to play it is truly something to be thankful for.
