Mississippi Deadbeat Dad Arrested

Posted: Updated:
GEORGE CO., MS -

Sheriff Dean Howell says another George County deadbeat dad has been arrested. James Decker, III, 32, was arrested Saturday morning by sheriff's deputies at about 10:00 a.m. at a routine checkpoint on Highway 613 and Tannertown Road intersections of the Agricola community.

A judge had issued a bench warrant for Decker recently for failure to pay child support. Decker of 105 Access Road in George County owes thousands in child support. Decker will have to serve 75 days in George County Regional Jail as well as pay a purge amount of $3,500.  A purge amount, is usually 25 -50% of the back child support owed. This purge amount which is required for his release from jail  does not release him from the responsibility of the remainder of back child support.

Decker has had previous run-ins with the law for possession of methamphetamine and manufacture of methamphetamine.
