NAS PENSACOLA, Florida -

Authorities are investigating after the bodies of a girl and a woman washed up on the shoreline of Sherman Cover near the Pensacola Naval Air Station.

U.S. Coast Guard Cmdr. Eric King says the bodies were found separately in shallow water on Wednesday afternoon. They were both clad in bathing suits.

The Pensacola News-Journal reports Coast Guard officials say there was no evidence of a boat accident. The U.S. Navy detectives searched the shoreline for evidence.

Sherman Cove is near the back entrance to the Naval Air Station.

No further details were immediately available.
