Dozens of family, friends, and supporters flooded Dauphin Street in Downtown Mobile Saturday, as a small group of runners crossed the finish line after a very long journey.
43 men and women were greeted with signs of support, cheers, and big hugs after running a 400-mile relay from Memphis to Mobile.
The purpose of the run is to raise money and awareness for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This is the fourth year for the event, and organizers hope it will continue for a long time.
There are currently about 70 children from Mobile and Baldwin counties being treated at St. Jude's in Memphis.
Be sure to watch the video attached to hear personal stories from the runners and organizers.
The overflow was caused by Monday night’s heavy rainfall.
