Posted: Updated:

Federal authorities say Trecia Howard McGee of Mobile entered a guilty plea to wire fraud in connection with a fraudulent BP oil claim she filed.

They say she also admitted assisting others in filing false claims and receiving proceeds from those false claims. McGee admitted her involvement with false claims totaling
$400,000.00. McGee faces a maximum possible penalty of up to 20 years and will be
sentenced in August.

The case arose from an investigation by the United States Secret Service and
was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Deborah Griffin.
