A trio of local companies are getting in on the construction of the Airbus Final Assembly Plant.
Hosea Weaver and Sons, Gulf States Engineering and Southern Earth Sciences were awarded consulting contracts.
Already on site there are workers clearing the ground and taking soil samples before the physical structure starts to go up.
Officials Hosea say this project came at a good time for them when finding contracts has been tough, and they say more work could becoming as a result of Airbus.
"There are other projects that are coming associated with airbus way that is going to be constructed by the city. There is the next phase of broad street which is going to be constructed by ALDOT. With that work and not to mention the suppliers that are going to be coming in, this really has the potential to pick things up in the city of mobile," said Ken Donoghue assistant project manager for Hosea Weaver and Sons.
Each of the companies say right now they are staffed enough to handle to handle the workload, but could have openings as more contracts are awarded.
