BAY MINETTE, Alabama -

The day after those terrible images flashed across television screens, "It's a shame this had to happen on such an important day and such an important event in our history," for former Bostonian Jack Dwyer nothing seems the same. "You never know in today's world what can happen."

It's a feeling many are coping with the day after. "Even though we are not in Boston, we are Americans. When things like this happen it really rocks all of us to our core." Pastor Daniel Randall opened the Baldwin County Commission meeting with a prayer even as he struggles to understand how something like this could happen, again.

"We pray that in our darkness you continue to show us your light, that we may feel your strength in our weakness and helplessness," he prayed.

The attack for Dwyer was personal. "This will not set back the city of Boston. The people are very resilient to picking up and moving forward." But moving on will be delayed as the search for answers continues.

"The FBI will find out who the perpetrators of this horrific bombing were and bring them to the full extent of justice," says Dwyer.

In the meantime, 'Old Glory' has returned to a familiar position, half-staff, as a nation is once again in mourning.
