Gun Owners Hoping To Find Ammo

Posted: Updated:
MOBILE, Alabama -
It's a hot item right now at gun shows across the country.

"I've been all over the place to Walmart, Academy, Bass Pro Shop been to gun shops all over Mobile area you can't find what you need," said Nick Sagler.

Gun owners are looking for ammunition, but they're having trouble finding it. With the gun debate still a big issue people aren't waiting around to stock up on their supplies.

"Locally, yeah there's an extreme shortage. The people who are selling it for normal prices are running out extremely fast,"  said Jeremy Windle.

Just ask a vendor at the Greater Gulf State Fairgrounds for this weekend's gun show. They'll tell you real quick that ammo is hard to come by.

"If you were to call Cheaper Than Dirt or Midway any of those places online, they're all back ordered 6 months or better," said Ronica Williams.

Places like Walmart limit you to 3 boxes, but some stores will only let you walk out with 1 box of ammo per day. When will this shortage end? No one seems to have the answer.

"I hope it's over I mean it's definetely sad what's happened in Connecticut and everything but there are law abiding citizens who deserve the right to bear arms and that's the problem that we're facing right now is they're wanting to take and restrict what we can do as legal citizens," said a gun owner.
The gun show continues Sunday from 10am-4pm.
