Carnival Triumph Does About Face

Carnival Triumph Does About Face

Posted: Updated:
MOBILE, Ala. -

With the assistance of tug boats, the Carnival Triumph undocked from the Alabama Cruise Terminal with the intentions of heading back to BAE Ship Systems.

But according to a Carnival spokesman, those plans fell through, saying they "changed their minds because of bad weather." So the boat was guided back to the Alabama Cruise Terminal.

The move began at 1 o'clock this afternoon.

Officials gave no reason as to why it was moved today. However, it happens to be the same day the body of John Buster Johnson was recovered near BAE. His body was found at about 7:30 this morning by two BAE employees.

Johnson was the BAE dock worker who fell into the water last Wednesday when the Triumph broke loose from its moorings at the BAE dock.

News 5's Chad Petri has been gathering details and will have an update on News 5 at 5 and 6pm.
