Body Of John Johnson Found

Body Of John Johnson Found

Posted: Updated:

The body of John "Buster" Johnson was found Friday morning.  He's the BAE worker who fell into the water after the Carnival Triumph broke free of its moorings on April 3rd.  Crews have been searching for nine days to find Johnson's body.  They say this is a huge relief for everyone involved.

"It's a good day for us because Mr. Johnson's been returned to his family members so they'll have closure that is our only reward for doing this kind of work," says Mobile County Sheriff's Flotilla Lt. Commander Billy Frost.  The Mobile County search group put in 1100 man hours into the work.  Add to that the hours spent by Daphne Search and Rescue and others and you have a very exhaustive search.  The body was found at 7:30 this morning by BAE employees near one of the docks at the shipyard.
