Authorities say there has been one reported fatality and several injuries from a tornado that hit Kemper County. Mississippi Emergency Management Agency spokesman Greg Flynn says the fatality was reported to have happened west-northwest of DeKalb, near Mississippi Highway 493. Flynn says the tornado hit Kemper and Noxubee counties before pushing into Alabama. He says there are reports of damaged buildings and many power outages in the area. Flynn says he doesn't know the exact number of people who were hurt or the extent of their injuries. Flynn says authorities are watching another possible tornado that may pass north of Hattiesburg.
