Workshop Tackles Bullying in Mobile County

Posted: Updated:
MOBILE, Alabama -

Students, counselors and teachers are working to put down bullying in Mobile County.

The Coalition Against Bullying held a workshop Thursday morning where students talked about the issue to educators.

The goal was to teach adults in daily contact with teens how to deal with victims and the bullies themselves.

"How to communicate, how to see the warning signs if someone is being bullied or even that bully, that person that is being bullied and that person that is being the bully. Because that person needs help just as much as that person that is being bullied," said Ann Sirmon, Helping Families Director at Mobile County District Attorney's Office.

If you are a student or parent dealing with a bully, you can text the words ‘bullyblocker' to 839863 and that will connect you to resources to combat the problem.
