Elberta Police Close Major Burglary Investigation

The Elberta Police Department has closed a major burlgary investigation and returned more than 25-thousand dolllars worth of stolen property to a local businessman.

Terry Seay and Steven Shipes were arrested in Geneva County, Alabama.

Police say the men stole more than 25-thousand dollars worth of tools, work equipment and machinery from an Elberta business off Highway 98.

Police Chief Stanley DeVane tells News 5 the suspects stole the property to support drug habits.

Seay and Shipes could also be connected to several other, unsolved burglaries in Baldwin County.
