GULF SHORES, Alabama -

First responders got the call around six o'clock. A child had fallen from a first floor balcony at Harbour House condominium.

"I thought about that little boy all night last night and wondered if he was okay." Amy Coleman is staying in the same complex. "I looked over and the mom was sitting on the ground holding the little boy. I saw blood and immediately I went over to see what was wrong and to see if I could help in any way and the mom explained to me that he had fell off the balcony."

She says the father of the little boy jumped from the balcony to help. "They were just sitting on the balcony playing she said and the railing broke and he fell through."

Amy and her family were staying across from where the accident happened. The two rails that gave way have since been replaced with extra security screws. But still, that's an eight foot drop onto hard concrete.

"We got a great response our fire department and police department that got on scene at the site quickly and were able to transport to South Baldwin after stability. Lifeflight showed up and brought him to South."

At last report the toddler was listed in stable condition. The condo vacant except for a cleaning crew.,

"It was scary. I could not even imagine having to go through that with her."

This the second time this month a structure failure has caused injury in Gulf Shores. A balcony loaded with spring breakers collapsed a couple of weeks ago sending seven to the hospital.
