Its Easter weekend! There's lots to do in Mobile to celebrate from Easter egg hunts to sunrise services. Here's a list of events you can choose from. Most are free and family friendly.


 Saturday, March 30

Easter in the Squares:


Bienville & Cathedral Squares

10:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m.


This is a free, family friendly event.

Activities begin at 10:00 a.m. in Bienville Square with Kids' Karaoke, Easter Bonnet-making and more. Then, there's an Easter Egg Hunt for kids (ages 8 and younger) at 11:15 a.m. The Easter Parade is for all ages. It will travel down Dauphin Street to Cathedral Square at 11:45 a.m. where judges will award prizes for Best Easter Bonnet, Best Family Theme, Best Pet and Best Decorated Stroller or Wagon.

Once in Cathedral Square activities include face painting, an Easter Art project, and photos with the Easter Bunny.


For those who want to go out to eat for Easter The Bienville Club, Battlehouse, and Riverview have all planned a special Easter menu.

Easter Sunrise Services:

1. Easter Sunrise Service Bellingrath Gardens & Home

Sunday, March 31

6:30 a.m.

As the sun rises over Bellingrath Gardens and Home on Easter Sunday, come and enjoy a special Sunrise Service with friends and family on Live Oak Plaza between the Bellingrath Home and the Boehm Gallery. The service will begin at 6:30 a.m. and is open to everyone in the community.

Pastors and volunteers from Dauphin Way United Methodist Church and Central Presbyterian Church will participate in the service and will serve as greeters and ushers. During the service an offering will be collected to benefit The Interfaith Hospitality Network - The Family Promise Ministry.

Complimentary admission will be given to guests from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. on Easter Sunday. A limited number of chairs will be set up. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs. A continental breakfast will be available in the Magnolia Café from 7:30 a.m. through 8:30 a.m.

2. Easter Sunrise Service at Battleship Memorial Park

6:30 a.m.

Government Street Baptist Church is having its 43rd Annual Sunrise Service at Battleship Park. The service is open to everyone in the community.

They also encourage anyone to join them for Easter Sunday.

Sunday School starts at 9:00

Worship starts at 10:15

3. Easter Sunrise Service at Langan/Municipal Park

Sunday, March 31

7:00 a.m.

St. Johns United Methodist Church will be holding a service at Langan Park. The service is open to everyone in the community.

Easter Breakfast Cruise:

Bellingrath Gardens & Home

Sunday, March 31

8:00 a.m.

The Southern Belle will be offering their annual Easter Breakfast Cruise. The one and a half hour cruise is $35.00 per person and will depart from the Bellingrath Gardens Riverfront Pavillion at 8:00 AM. The menu includes ham, grits, eggs, biscuits, sausage, bacon, fruit and pastries. Advanced reservations are required and may be made by calling Alabama Cruises at 973-1244.
