Cruisers Still Cruising Despite Carnival Troubles

Cruisers Still Cruising Despite Carnival Troubles

Posted: Updated:

Local Cruise Industry experts say business is good despite a recent spate of troubles for Carnival Cruise lines.

Carnival's Triumph remains in a slip at BAE Ship Systems undergoing repairs.  The company may eventually move Triumph to a jointly owned shipyard in the Bahamas.

Carnival has also endured setbacks involving its ships, Elation, Legend and Sunshine.

Despite that, Springdale Travel says business for cruises is almost double what it was this time last year.

They say much of that business is from veteran cruisers.  They say Carnival is increasing efforts to lure first-time cruisers with discounts and other incentives.
