Less Humid and Less Hot, Soon.

Less Humid and Less Hot, Soon.

MOBILE, Alabama -

We've got a few but strong thunderstorms this evening. Some will grow as tall as 50,000' so stay alert for the threat of high wind gusts and intense lightning. Most areas won't get wet but those that do could pick up an inch or two or rain. These storms will move to the southeast.

A cold front will push storms toward the coast before they fade and leave us drier late tonight. Along and south of I-10, low temperatures tonight remain in the lower 70s but for tomorrow night and Wednesday night, look forward to lows in the middle and upper 60s.

With a light northerly wind, tomorrow won't be as hot or as humid, and neither will Wednesday. Our dew points will fall into the lower 60s tomorrow and then into the upper 50s on Wednesday. Make the most of the 2 dry days and then prepare for the usual afternoon showers and thunderstorms as we start August, later this week. Highs for tomorrow through the weekend will be pretty close to 90, but when higher humidity returns later in the week, it will feel hotter.

In the central Atlantic, there is a strong tropical wave but the Gulf is calm and we have no tropical threats.
