Wetter Tuesday, Drier Midweek

Wetter Tuesday, Drier Midweek

MOBILE, Alabama -

Our workweek started with just a handful of afternoon thunderstorms. That's how we go through the evening- just a few showers and thunderstorms. Some may linger tonight, under partly cloudy skies. Expect muggy conditions again with lows in the lower 70s.

Tomorrow is cloudier and wetter, mainly in coastal counties. Expect periods of showers and thunderstorms, although not lasting all day. Inland counties will be less-wet. Highs tomorrow rise into the upper 80s, to near 90.

After tomorrow, the wind flow pattern changes. Drier air will gradually arrive from the northwest, giving us no more than 20% coverage of showers on Wednesday. Thursday may not produce anything more than a couple of showers.

Highs on Wednesday and Thursday stay near 90. By Friday and Saturday, our highs settle in the upper 80s. Friday looks mostly dry and by Saturday, a few showers may return to the area.

On this eve of the 10th anniversary of the landfall of Hurricane Ivan, no problems in the Gulf. Hurricane Edouard remains in the central Atlantic. Hurricane Odile is moving northward on the Baha Peninsula of Mexico. Tomorrow (Tuesday) evening at 6:30pm watch News 5 for a re-broadcast of my special program, Hurricane Ivan's Impact on the Gulf Coast.
