Record Cool at the Best Possible Time

Updated:
MOBILE, Alabama -
If you're going to have record cool temperatures, why not do it during what would usually be the hottest time of year?  Today is another great weather day, and a great way to wrap up July. We started with record lows again today--early morning temps in Mobile and Pensacola bottomed out at 63 degrees; Mobile broke the record of 66 from 1984, and Pensacola clobbered the old record of 67 from 1936.   Lot of sun early will warm us to 90 today.
A shift in the wind from northeast to southwest will add some humidity and clouds later this afternoon and tonight.
A chance of showers and thunderstorms returns to the forecast for tomorrow and through the weekend. There's a 30-40% chance each afternoon, with partly cloudy skies in-between. Highs Friday through Monday will be in the low 90s with lows in the low 70s.  Oh, and the humidity will be back.  All in all, this weekend brings a return to more typical summer weather.
Clouds, showers, and low pressure over the mid-Atlantic are still showing signs of possibly developing into a tropical depression in the next couple of days. It's no threat to us.
