A Little Heat and a Few Thunderstorms.

Updated:
MOBILE, Alabama -

Our final weekend of July is relatively quiet. By that, I mean the Gulf of Mexico is calm and that’s always a plus in hurricane season. There’s only been one named storm in the Atlantic so far while the eastern Pacific has had seven named storms.

There are no big weather systems moving through our area so expect the humidity to linger, with temperatures near average this weekend.

Low temperatures tonight for coastal counties will be in the lower 70s. At the beaches, you’ll remain in the middle 70s. A shower or thunderstorm is possible, although mainly along the coast.

Tomorrow has isolated morning showers in coastal counties. By mid afternoon, rain and thunderstorm coverage increases to about a quarter of the area. Those too, will be more likely in coastal counties than in inland counties. Some of the thunderstorms will drop a lot of rain before fading.

Sunday will be less-wet but not totally dry. Highs both days will be in the lower 90s for coastal counties. Inland counties will be a couple of degrees warmer.

For both weekend days, most locations won’t see rain but you will find a mixture of sun and clouds.

The new workweek starts a bit wetter but by midweek, we may actually go a couple of days without any rain.
