Showers and Thunder for Thursday

Updated:
MOBILE, Alabama -

Tomorrow is looking a little wetter than today was. It won’t be unusually wet for July and it won’t be an all-day rain but be prepared for increasing showers and thunderstorms.

Tonight has light wind and high humidity. Low temperatures for coastal counties will be in the lower 70s. Inland counties will be closer to 70, with communities north of Highway 84 just dipping into the upper 60s. A few showers and thunderstorms offshore will move onshore late tonight.

Tomorrow starts with isolated showers so most of us won’t get wet. By midday, rain and thunderstorm coverage increases to about a third of the area. Expect afternoon thunderstorm coverage of 30% to 40%. Some of those thunderstorms will drop a lot of rain before fading.

The Gulf and rest of the Atlantic basin are quiet. What was Tropical Depression #2 faded away this morning and shows no signs of returning.
