A Wetter Holiday Weekend

A Wetter Holiday Weekend

MOBILE, Alabama -

It's just been a few showers this afternoon although they stood in place in west Mobile. Humidity increases for all of us so look for a wetter weekend ahead.

Tonight is still pleasant for inland counties. Lows settle in the middle 60s with clear skies. Nearer to the coast, expect lows to stick in the lower 70s under mixed skies. There will be some showers, mainly in coastal counties

Tomorrow puts us back in the lower 90s but with cloudier skies and increased humidity.

The afternoon will produce showers and thunderstorms covering about a third of the area. That's just the beginning...

Saturday is cloudier and wetter, with half the area getting showers and thunderstorms. Sunday and Labor Day will be a bit less wet. While Saturday will likely be the wettest day in the next week, it won't be an all-day rain, and there should be sunny breaks too. Similarly Sunday and Monday will produce periods of rain, rather than a continuous rain.

Hurricane Cristobal is in the open Atlantic on a path toward colder waters that will weaken it in a few days. There are no other systems of concern in the Tropics.
