Stacie Schaible is an Emmy nominated News Anchor who joined WFLA News Channel 8 in January of 2000. She anchors News Channel Eight weeknights and leads the 8 On Your Side consumer unit.
In addition to her "On Your Side" brand of reporting, Schaible makes a special effort to reach the community in person. She frequently emcees local charity events and serves as a guest speaker. She shares her insights into not only consumer reporting but local news as well.
Schaible was named "Business Woman of the Year," in the Media category, by the Tampa Bay Business Journal in 2010. That same year, Schaible launched into a lengthy investigation focused on high water bills in the City of Tampa. The series started with one small group of viewers who enlisted Schaible's help in figuring out why their recent water bills had spiked. In the end, it prompted big changes at the Water Department including how, how often and by whom, water meters in the City of Tampa are read.
Hundreds of letters, phone calls and emails flow into the Eight On Your Side Consumer unit monthly. Schaible, along with Eight on Your Side staff and volunteers, sort through the requests and assist as many viewers as possible.
Prior to joining News Channel 8 in 2000, Schaible was a main evening anchor at KXAN-TV in Austin, Texas, WDAY-TV in Fargo, North Dakota and KDLH-TV in Duluth, Minnesota.
Stacie is a Minnesota native who graduated from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
Schaible's hard hitting journalism has earned her repeated invitations at the highly-regarded "Poynter Institute for Media Studies" in St. Petersburg, FL as a visiting faculty member.
Stacie lives in Tampa with her son and daughter. In her spare time, she loves golf, traveling and time at the beach.
