MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Forecasters have issued a heat advisory covering the entire state of Alabama as temperatures are expected to approach 100 degrees. Weather service forecasters expect temperatures to range from 95 degrees to 100 degrees across much of the state.

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn University is wrapping up work on the first phase of its renovation of Toomer's Corner. Replicas of the Auburn eagles that used to stand atop brick pillars are going up today. The next major step is planting new oak trees to replace the ones that an Alabama football fan killed with poison after Auburn defeated the Crimson Tide in 2010.

ATHENS, Ala. (AP) - A prosecutor says an Alabama man accused of stabbing his cousin to death over borrowed movies is citing the state's "stand your ground" law in asking that the case be dismissed. Kenny Dewayne Adams is set to stand trial Monday on a murder charge in the killing of Yancey Metz Foster in Foster's mobile home west of Athens, Alabama.

SELMA, Ala. (AP) - An Alabama schoolteacher is suspended without pay after being accused of having students re-enact the deadly police shooting in Ferguson, Missouri, and the Trayvon Martin killing in Florida. School officials haven't identified the teacher, who teaches sixth grade.
