Falling down 7-1 early in a contest would make any team just give up and quit..... but not the Westside Little Leaguers. Thursday night, the team from Mobile chipped away from a 6-run defict to cut the lead to 7-5 in the 3rd inning. Georgia would add one run in the top of the 4th before Westside took over in the bottom half of the inning. With 2-men on, Mason McCullough smacked a towering homer to deep center field to tie the game at 8. Two batters later, Brett Glover hit his 2nd home run of the game to give Westside the lead, but only for a moment.
Georgia reclaimed the lead in the 5th on a 2-run fielding error at 10-9. Mobile had one last chance to tie with Glover up, but he grounded out to end the game as Georgia wins, 10-9.
Congrats to Westside on an amazing comeback effort and an outstanding season!
