Southeastern Conference Commissioner Mike Slive has been appointed chair of the N-C-double-A Division One men's basketball committee for the 2008-2009 academic year. Slive, who has served on the committee since 2004, will replace current chair Tom O'Connor, assistant vice president and director of athletics at George Mason University. The S-E-C said on its Web site today, he is to begin his term on September first, 2008, after formal approval by N-C-double-A officials early next year.
